Life at Uform
We’re committed to becoming an employer of choice, both for the benefit of our people, and the organisation. Hear from our employees about life at Uform.
“As an employer, I would describe Uform as fast paced, professional, creative, forward thinking and hugely empathetic and supportive towards its employees. ”
Each day differs greatly in terms of my role. I plan for the day ahead in terms of on-site customer appointments, which is usually around 4 per day depending on the locality. Between visits I deal with emails, phone calls and queries from customers or internal queries form our internal support teams.
I really enjoy being part of the Uform team. I get great satisfaction from the way that as a company, we can really make a difference to both the business life of a customer and in turn their personal life and this can take many forms as we constantly stive to improve our processes and systems to save customers time and money.
The mentorship I have received from various senior and junior colleagues has been immense. I am continually learning from everyone within the organisation. The willingness to share best practices is a credit to the way the company views its employees.
“It’s hugely rewarding to know that within the 6 years I’ve been here I have helped to recruit a large majority of our workforce, a high calibre of individuals who have collectively helped Uform continue to grow year on year.”
In HR you never really have what you would class as a typical day and for me, that’s one thing I really love about this line of work. One day I could be focussed on employee relations, end to end recruitment and new employee onboarding and the next I could be involved in updating and implementing policies or creating internal communications for our employee engagement platform, as well as various other HR projects which support our overarching HR strategy.
Uform is almost like a home from home for me and when I compare it to previous work environments and employers, it really does have that family ethos running through every area of the company, despite the significant growth we’ve experienced. Our employees are key to our success and for this reason, from a HR perspective we continually strive to ensure we offer a comprehensive range of benefits to help attract and retain the best talent available. In terms of training and development, I’ve received an immense amount of support since joining the company. We genuinely want to see our employees succeed and to understand the part they play in delivering on our vision and mission as a company.
“Uform prioritises the well-being of its employees, offers support at all levels within the organisation and has policies in place that encourage respect, trust, empathy, and support.“
My role within the despatch department is challenging and busy but very rewarding. My day kicks off at 4.30am where the team and I plan and collate the domestic run for the day ahead, this could typically involve the loading of 8-11 dedicated Uform trucks for despatch throughout Ireland. I also help oversee despatches via our courier network which covers UK & Ireland.
In terms of working within Uform, it doesn’t feel like work! For me personally the despatch department genuinely has an approachable and friendly vibe that just comes natural, being part of a team that strives and cares about the daily tasks as much as I do makes each day an enjoyable experience.
The company advocates training and development of its people to help people grow personally and professionally and I have been fortunate to gain qualifications to include an ILM Level 3, Operation Licence Awareness training and Domestic Logistical planning.
“Given my time with the company, it’s evident that there’s a positive workplace culture. Everyone supports each other and works to inspire each other and I’m proud to be part of such a forward-thinking team of people.“
My main area of responsibility is the management of our Italian Supply Chain in terms of overseeing and maintaining inventory. A typical day could include collating reports to identify stock requirements, liaising with the relevant supplier and managing order books.
The most enjoyable aspect of my job is undoubtedly the people I work with day and daily. It can be a challenging, fast paced industry to work in but it’s hugely rewarding and motivating when we pull together as a team, not just within Procurement but in collaboration with other departments to get the job done.
