Showcasing Retailer Success: L.A. Kitchens & Interiors Creates a Timeless Kitchen

Uform is delighted to support Monaghan based retailer L.A. Kitchens & Interiors with a feature in the Autumn 2026 issue of Ireland’s Kitchen Guide (IKG). One recent project from L.A. Kitchens & Interiors demonstrates just that, combining timeless styling, bespoke detailing and considered functionality to transform an existing bungalow in Co. Sligo into an impressive open-plan family home.

A Kitchen Designed Around the Client

The project formed part of an extensive renovation, which saw the existing bungalow extended to incorporate a new kitchen and conservatory.

The clients’ brief centred around creating a spacious, open-plan kitchen that would work equally well for everyday family life and entertaining. A generous central island, extensive worktop space and dedicated breakfast pantry were all key requirements, but above all, the homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt completely individual to their home.

L.A. Kitchens & Interiors responded with a design that balances traditional craftsmanship with cleaner contemporary detailing, resulting in a scheme that feels timeless and refined without becoming overly formal.

Bringing the Design to Life with Winslow

At the heart of the project is Winslow, a painted inframe effect shaker door. Its traditional detailing provided the character required for the scheme, while its refined proportions allowed it to sit comfortably within the bright, contemporary open-plan extension.

The versatility of Uform’s Paint To Order offering also gave L.A. Kitchens & Interiors greater scope to personalise the finished design.

For the main cabinetry, the Colour Match Service was used to create a bespoke shade, introducing a soft, warm neutral throughout the room. The central island provides a subtle contrast in Willow, while stained timber details introduce additional warmth and texture.

The ability to specify a bespoke colour helped create a more individual design while demonstrating the breadth of options available through the STORI collection.

Bespoke Details Make the Difference

Thoughtful craftsmanship can be seen throughout the project. Curved cabinetry, painted skirting and a bespoke mantle canopy add individuality, while the combination of quartz worktops and stained timber detailing gives the island a strong focal presence.

Functionality was given equal consideration. A bi-fold breakfast pantry, deep drawers, tall cabinetry and bespoke internal storage provide ample space for everyday essentials while allowing the main worktops to remain uncluttered.

The island itself has been carefully planned as the hub of the room, housing the main preparation area alongside the sink, dishwasher, bin storage and wine fridge. Positioned directly opposite the cooking zone and close to the breakfast pantry, the layout creates an efficient workflow while maintaining a natural connection between the kitchen, dining and living areas.
