Uform Supports World Humanitarian Day

World Humanitarian Day is marked every year on 19^th August to recognise and raise awareness on the work of humanitarians around the world. Each year World Humanitarian Day brings people together from across the humanitarian system to advocate for the survival, well-being and dignity of people affected by crisis.

Across the globe, the challenges that humanity faces are constantly changing every year and, in some cases, even getting worse.

At Uform, we have decided to mark this year’s World Humanitarian Day by supporting a local organisation, Hope Foodbank Magherafelt, a project that was founded by local churches and community groups with a shared passion of working together to combat hunger in the local area.

Now a part of the charity, Hope Magherafelt, the aim of the Foodbank is to help transform the lives of those in need in the local community by providing practical support to those in poverty and helping them tackle the root causes.

Uform employees have rallied together to support Hope Magherafelt Foodbank through food donations, and these have been delivered directly to the charity to help those who are struggling within the community.

Commenting on its support for World Humanitarian Day, Uform Group CEO Simon Oliphant says, “We are pleased to be able to support a very worthy charity within our local community to help mark World Humanitarian Day. The Uform Team have made food donations to Hope Magherafelt Foodbank, a valuable support network within our local community which helps to end food poverty for those facing hardship, an issue which is steadily on the rise today. We’re pleased to be able to do our bit to really help those in need and the Uform Team have made a significant contribution to this cause.”
